First-Time Quiltmaking

In this 3-week class we will cover the fundamentals – fabric preparation, cutting, sewing, pressing and other quilt making techniques. You will learn how to make a small quilt top. This is a great class for new quilters as well as those who have done some quilting but haven’t take a class and have the desire to quilt.

Supply List – You will need to bring a working sewing machine that does a straight stitch. Be sure to bring bobbins and needles. If you aren’t familiar with your machine, take some time to learn the basics before coming to class. Here are the rest of the items to bring.

• Rotary Cutter – 45mm
• First-Time Quilt making Book (available to purchase at the beginning of class)
• Quilting Rulers 6 ½ x 24 ½ preferred
• Quilting pins
• Scissors
• Seam Ripper
• Marking Pencil
• Something to keep your supplies in – bag, tote.

I will provide irons, ironing boards, and cutting mats.

You will need to purchase the book to pick out a pattern so that you can buy fabric. Please have your fabrics picked out before class – Choose a pattern in purchased book.

Cancellation Policy: A 5-day notice is required in order to receive a full refund/store credit. If there is less than 5-day notice we will attempt to fill the seat. If the slot is filled, you may receive a full refund/store credit (class fees only). If we are unable to fill the cancelled seat your fee will be forfeited. If you have to unenroll from a class that includes a free pattern/book and have received this item, the price of the pattern/book will be reduced from any potential refund/store credit.

Skill Level: Beginner

Skill Details: You will need to operate your own sewing machine with basic functions, and be able to physically cut fabric – we will show you techniques and accuracy.

Dates – this has 3 dates with a 3-hour window for 2 classes and the last class may take a little longer.
