What do I need to do to have my quilt ready for the longarm?

  1. Your quilt backing should be 3 to 4 inches larger than your top on all sides.
  2. You must provide your own batting at this time. It must also be 3 to 4 inches larger than your top on all sides.
  3. Please trim all threads and make sure your seams are pressed flat.
  4. Double check that you have removed all pins, there are no holes in your seams, and your borders are not “wavy.” Your finished quilt will be as free of pleats, fullness, and tucks as your piecing allows.
  5. Do not baste your quilt sandwich. Bring as three separate items – top, batting, & backing.
  6. Please note if there is a top to your quilt or backing.
  7. If you piece your backing, use 1/2-inch seam allowances and press the seams open. I would recommend removing the selvage edges from the seam allowance seams. You may leave the selvages on edges that are not in a seam.
  8. We will guide you in choosing the thread color and quilting design. You may choose from our collection.
  9. Turnaround time varies. Please let me know at the time of drop-off if you have a specific deadline.
  10. My quilting designs range in price from 2 to 2.5 cents per square inch depending on the complexity of the design. I can give you the exact cost for your quilt once you have chosen a quilting design and we have measured the size of your quilt in inches.
  11. There is a minimum of $50.00 for smaller projects.
What types of payments are accepted?

Cash, check, credit card, Venmo or Facebook Pay.

How do you determine how long my quilt will take to be completed?

The size, design, how many I have before yours, and when you may need it.

Can I book space for something else?

Yes, it is available for private events. Please contact us for more information.

Are these sessions in-person or online?

Classes are in person at this time.

Am I able to watch the process of my quilt being made on the longarm?

Yes, I can record portions of the process as I am able. Please ask.

Do you work your quilting designs from patterns or do designs free hand?

I typically use patterns that come preloaded on my quilting machine. However, if you have a specific pattern in mind that I don’t already have, I’m happy to download it for you. In that case, you would cover the cost of the pattern, and I’ll use it on your quilt.

Do you have patterns that I can look at and choose from?

Yes, I have a folder with choices or if we can look at the longarm tablet – we can choose from there too.

Do you give estimates? How firm are they and how long will the estimate last?

When you bring in your quilt top – we will get all the information down on paper and I will be able to tell you what it will cost. It will be in effect for one month.

Have you taken any longarm quilting classes or attended machine quilting conferences?

Yes, I have taken classes and have been trained by the vendor that sold me the longarm.

What types of designs do you offer? (pantographs, custom designs, edge to edge)

Edge to Edge with a computerized longarm.

Are you open to collaborating on design choices or suggestions?

Yes. An open mind always makes better decisions.

How will the quilt be prepared for pickup or shipping?

Reusable bag, pillowcase, or tote bag.
